Watch Anne & Lambert's XC from Rocking Horse 2
2010 was a year of ongoing education at CPKS Farm...
- We were host to clinics presented by Pony Club groups
- One with Jessica Phoenix & one with Peter Gray
- Pony Club testing was also conducted
- Anne attended the E.C. XC building & designing course in March
- Thanks to Rob Robertson for allowing Anne to assist at RCRA for the
indoor show last winter. It was very valuable.
- Anne also completed the TD course at Bromont in June.
- In the pursuit of achieving her stadium design certification, Anne
designed all the tracks from Pre-Entry to Advanced for the two Wit's End
Horse Trials stadium courses.
- Other clinics were attended as well; Albert Vroom in the spring and
fall with all of our horses performing well. They all love Albert!
Greatest improvement shown with H'Arts Desire (Desi).
- Anne also rode in Leslie Law, Pat Burgess and Belinda Trussell
clinics and enjoyed each one very much.
- More work was completed on our XC fences, assisted by Hugh Morshead.
In total, 5 new jumps were built, 4 re-built and a dozen moved to create
new tracks.
- Planned for 2011 are several new jumps and course changes.
- New stadium jumps are also arriving this winter at CPKS as
technology moves ahead with materials and jump cup systems.
- The indoor footing is receiving a facelift this fall. As always,
indoor arena time is available for rent at $25/hour. Stadium courses
will be set-up for the weekends.
- We welcomed Claire Roper from BC to the farm this year. She had a
very successful season upgrading to Intermediate with her horse
Mulletine.
- Colleen Brown and Kyleigh also joined us this year. Colleen competed
at her first event in two years at Pre-Training with a double-clear,
finishing 3rd.
- Tori Beauchemin and Letterman have just moved in as well and we look
forward to the new season with them.
- We had a fantastic time at the WEGs! So great to be there and watch
Canada win SILVER!! Also, hooked up with our New Zealand buddies again.
We went on a XC course walk with them and saw how the Kiwi's walk their
lines to the fences! Even scooped an official team NZ hat!!
- Congratulations to the following:
* Julie
Clark & Guiness for completing their first CCI** at Fair Hill in 29th!!
* Kirsten
Haines & Marzipan for ending their season at PT on their dressage score!
* Mikhaila Loader
& Desert Raider only competed at one event this season, but managed to win
the PT JR at Woodwinds.
- Condolences to Martina Sagermann on her loss of Remi. No one could
have been any more patient or taken any better care of Remi, but sadly,
it was not meant to be.
- Highlights of Claus & Anne's season was a 3rd in the training at
Richland for Claus & Wisconsin. Due to lack of Advanced level events for
Caliente Kisses, Cali & Anne tackled the "A" Circuit jumpers
successfully at Palgrace & Halton Place in the 1.15m and 1.2m classes.
Petey, the youngest horse on the farm started his showing career with
outings at hunter/jumper shows, field hunting, 3 Entry events and
finished off the season at Pre-Training. He is still growing and we're
excited by his AMAZING attitude and work ethic!
- Unfortunately, after winning his 1st Preliminary Combined Test in
April, Lambert sustained a minor injury and missed out on the rest of
the season. He is now 100% and back in full work. Darn the short
Canadian show season!
- The only thing left to do is head south to Florida in February!!
